From the Rocky Mountains to the World's Top Golf Destinations
Founded in 1896, Tralee Golf Club opened its present Arnold Palmer-designed course for play in 1984, after moving from its nine-hole course from nearby Mounthawk. It was a great achievement for the Club, which now can truly call their home one of Ireland & the World's best Links courses. Palmer would later quote: “I may have designed the first nine, but surely God designed the back nine”.
**It took me too long to visit, so when I finally did, I had to play it twice! Tralee showcases all that is great with Irish Links and why we have the best in the world on our doorstep. The front 9 is laid out in a more traditional way, with holes 2,3,5,6 & 7 highlighting a very fair and testing front loop. The back 9, well...all that has been said, its 100% accurate. The best 9 holes in Irish Golf? This 9 is definately in the conversation! Awesome greens, a wonderful course and a must play! Get the Seafood chowder, a few pints of Guinness and reminisce.**
